Jeannette Buford

Horses have been an important part of my life ever since I can remember. At four years old I was helping my dad in the barn caring, feeding and riding ponies. By nine I had my first horse and at 12 years of age I had trained my first show horse. In my teenage years I did anything I could do to be around horses. Cleaned stalls, helped with lessons, and exercised race horses. I have even ridden in the USA Bicentennial wagon train. This love of horses has been a focus all my life.

For the past 24 years I have been sharing my knowledge through teaching others about horses. Since 1994 I have worked exclusively out of the Clear Lake area. I work with students of all ages to expand their equine knowledge and riding skills. We ride in the arena, go on trail rides, and play games on horseback. Teaching a wide variety of skills and having fun at the same time.

  • Over 40 years experience working with horses
  • Trained with Betsy Boyles at Rock Creek Riding Academy, West Fork Arkansas
  • Attended Hunter-Jumper, Three Day Eventing and Endurance events
  • Competed in All-Around AQHA Horse Shows
  • Rode in rodeos barrels, play-days and team penning
  • Acted as a trail boss and rode in cattle drives
  • Managed stables and worked as a veterinary assistant

Through the years I have taught beginning level riders to expand their skills. With lessons my students learn the basics both in the saddle and on the ground, enabling them to be better riders, attend horse shows, and other competitions.

Several of my students have gone on to be college and world level equine competitors. My reward with any student is that big smile at the end of the day.
